Program Benefits
The greatest benefit that Lend a Hand program volunteers receive from donating their time and energy to The Blood and Tissue Center is the knowledge they have helped to save the lives of Central Texans. But being a volunteer with the Blood and Tissue Center has additional benefits as well, such as…
Lend a Hand…Save a Life
Volunteers will be educated about the programs of The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas, as well as the impact blood donations have on patients’ lives. Each pint of blood can save up to two lives!
Lend a Hand Volunteer Loyalty Program
Every hour that a volunteer gives to the Lend a Hand Program moves him or her closer to receiving valuable gift certificates as our way of saying “thank you.” There are four levels, based on the amount of hours that a volunteer gives to the Blood and Tissue Center.
Volunteer Name Badge
Volunteers will receive their own Volunteer Name Badge along with a custom lanyard after signing up for their first volunteer assignment.
Volunteer Handbook
Volunteers will have access to the Volunteer Manual, which provides information on how to demonstrate our customer service standards, as well as tips for blood drive volunteers, Advocates, and information volunteers.
Lend a Hand eNews
Volunteers who reach any level in the Lend a Hand Volunteer Program receive our eNews. The eNews features stories about recipients, recognizes volunteers, promotes upcoming events and blood drives, and more–all ways to help spread the word.
Recognition on InYourHands.org Volunteers who reach Level 4 in the Lend a Hand Volunteer Program are recognized on our Web site at
