The Blood Center of Central Texas wants you to know ... Life is in Your Hands, and it's time to Get A Grip.
High school students like you are getting a grip on saving lives through blood donation. You hold the key and all we ask is that your school host a blood drive once a semester. High School blood drives save hundreds of lives ... lives that are in your hands.
High schools that host one blood drive per semester provide an invaluable service to the community and to Central Texans. Schools are awarded points based on the number of donations collected and percentage of participation at blood drives compared to other schools in their enrollment-size category. Each participating school has an opportunity to win up to $1,000 in scholarships for their graduating seniors.

Central Texans need hundreds of blood donations each day. Student donations account for approximately 20% of all blood collections in the region. This need is continually growing, and will always require schools like yours that are willing to make the commitment. By hosting a blood drive once a semester and understanding that life is in your hands, you are helping to ensure that life-sustaining blood is available.
High school students like you have the strength to help patients who are recovering from cancer, healing after surgery, or fighting various blood diseases. It's time to get a grip on saving lives through blood donation.
