Volunteer Spotlight: Lee Ann

“Good vibrations!” is how Lee Ann describes the feeling she gets from volunteering with the Blood and Tissue Center. Lee Ann has been a volunteer with the Blood and Tissue Center since January 2015 and is a vital part of our volunteer team.

A native Chicagoan Lee Ann made her way to Austin via a winding path as a traveling RN that lead her from Chicago to Indianapolis, to Connecticut to Washington D.C. and finally to Austin. When not volunteering Lee Ann can be found hiking the Green Belt with her dog Mr. SamBucca, reading biographies or watching documentaries.

Lee Ann says “I like volunteering at The Blood and Tissue Center because the people who work there are friendly, the donors are happy, and it is amazing to me that giving a pint of blood and/ or platelets can help so many people in need. “

After you donate blood stop by the Canteen and chat with Lee Ann for a bit and feel free to recommend a good biography to read or documentary to see, she’s always looking for a good recommendation.
